Amazonian insect specimens

Harriet Bell Merrill collected many insect specimens during her two trips to Brazil in the early 1900s. A number of her insect mounts still exist in the Milwaukee Public Museum collections.

The camera lucida on the lower right was made to be attached to a microscope. It served as an aid in drawing microscopic specimens.
