Deconstructing Flight

The wing of the skeletal bird moves up and down when the wheel attached to the table is rotated.

The bird skeleton is a composite of bones from a wild turkey and a Canada goose. The taxidermied bird is a cockatoo.

The print hanging in the background is taken from one of Etienne Jules Marey's stop-motion photographic studies. It shows a tethered gull during flight.
