The display of minerals and fossils in this case comes from the collections of the UW-Madison Geology Museum. Many of the specimens date from the late 1800s. 

We do have a written record of the specimens included in the Academy's mineral and fossil collection from the 1880s. This grouping shows examples of the same types of minerals and fossils.
