each drawer is 4" high x 26" wide x 18" deep
2003
Found altered cabinet with mirror, mixed media

Detail showing drawer seven. This drawer refers to experiments done by a nineteenth century French physiologist named Duchenne de Boulogne. Boulogne used electrical current to stimulate the facial muscles of his human subjects, noting which groups of muscles acted together to create facial expressions that reflect different emotions. His photographs and findings were published for use by both physicians and artists.
